The Rockne Awards recognize people who, in the 86 years since the Notre Dame coach’s death, have emulated his positive character traits, such as champion, courage, perseverance, loyalty and service – and to inspire others to do the same. Ryan was a guest of honor at the Knute Rockne Spirit of Sports Awards Celebration where he received the Knute Rockne Memorial society’s award for embodying the traits of a Champion.
